The Story of My Transformation

Chapter One:

My story actually begins before I started the Get Slim Now Transformation. In February of this year, my mom and sisters began the program. My mom started telling me about the weight they had lost, and I knew that I was a few pounds overweight (or so I thought). My mom asked me several times if I would be interested in going on the program—you hinting that I was fat?—and I was reluctant about doing it. I did not think I would be disciplined enough to stick to the program and wasn’t sure I wanted to give up some of my favorite foods.

I finally decided I would try it out. I still had doubts I would be successful, but I finally decided to do it last March. My sister, Sherry, signed me up for the Get Slim Now Transformation and I went to see my doctor to have the lab work done. On the night before I started Transformation, I had my pictures taken. I was in total shock to see my pictures. I had not realized just how much weight I had gained.

I started the program on March 26, 2012 and it took me a couple of days to adjust to this new routine—especially to not snacking whenever I wanted. But from day one, I stuck to the program. I actually found I enjoyed the protein shakes. By April 2, 2012, I had lost 8 lbs. This removed all hesitation I had about being on the program. I was so excited I had lost 8 lbs and that was the major contributor to keep motivate me. In the weeks since, my weight loss has been from 2 to 4 lbs a week. By the way, I had set my goal weight at 180 lbs.

I have found the Transformation experience is the easiest program I have ever tried. I have not had any cravings at all on the program. There were a couple of nights I wished I could have my snack of grapes or bananas before going to bed, but I knew that I could not break the 4–4–12 rule. To do so would have meant failure. I have found I can be disciplined to stick to a healthy diet.

At week six, my doctor wanted to do lab work again. Since he was not familiar with Transformation, he wanted to be sure that everything was okay. When I went to see him he was very happy with my progress and told me I should be very proud of what I had accomplished.

By June 4th, I had reached my goal weight of 180 lbs; so I set a new goal of 175. I reached that goal by June 18th. Not completely happy with 175, I set a new goal of 170. I feel that within two weeks I will achieve that goal.

On a humorous note, I found that when I went to buy a new pair of shoes that I had to get a half size smaller!

Since participating in the Get Slim Now Transformation, my self-esteem has skyrocketed. I feel great about the accomplishments I have made. I feel great and have more energy. I also find I enjoy the compliments I am receiving. It makes me feel good about myself for people to notice the new me.

As I approach the end of my 13 weeks on the program, I do not feel this is the end of my story. These 13 weeks have only been chapter one in the story of my transformation. In the weeks, to come I will be living chapter 2 of my story as I reach my goal of 170 lbs. Chapter three involves continuing to work out to get the toned body that I want. From there, who knows what success the chapters will write?

I am a Transformation in Progress!
